About us:
Amber school of motoring is based in Wokingham, Berkshire and is dedicated to supplying effective and professional driving lessons suited to your personal requirements.
We like to think that, as a driving school, we are different to the other driving instructors out there, by having a different approach to learning to drive. Our approach to teaching people to drive is that of first and foremost you are the customer. Even so, it is a joint effort. You must feel comfortable with the instructor and hopefully have learned something each lesson, even if the lesson did not go as well as you wanted. Also, we remind you that driving is not an exact art, but an approximation and you do not have to be perfect, just safe and legal in your driving. This is just what the driving test examiner is looking for on your practical driving test, not perfection.

* We teach to the students learning requirements. Teaching methods are to suit the student, not the instructor.
* Teaching is paced to the students learning speed. This can vary depending upon the subject.
* We believe that the learning process is a joint effort between the student and the instructor.
* You will have a briefing at the start of your lesson.
* You will have a de-brief at the end of your lesson and then the next lesson will be planned.
* A record sheet is kept of your progress and updated at the end of each lesson, at the de-brief.
* Member of the British Dyslexia Association.
* Member of the D.I.A. ( Driving Instructors Association )
* The dual controls are in the car for instruction purposes and to keep you and others safe. They are not used unless they required for these reasons.
* If we are delayed by traffic and late for the start of your lesson, the time will be added onto the end of your lesson.
* We are patient and don’t shout.
* If you make an error while driving, it is a learning opportunity.
* You do not share the car with another student. No picking up the next student while you are on your lesson.
* We do not have the mobile phone on while teaching, you have our full attention.
* The car is a non-smoking environment at all times. If the student needs a break, we stop for them to get out of the car.
* The instructor does not eat or drink while you are driving.
* Both cars are fitted with air conditioning, for your comfort.

Our teaching area covers: Wokingham, Bracknell, Crowthorne, Woodley, Reading, Twyford, Wargrave, Arborfield, Sandhurst, Yately, Hurst, Blackwater,Farnborough, Binfield, Emmer Green, Caversham, Sonning and many others.
If you are further afield and require our specific specialised training please call and we will try to help.
Some students, from further afield, travel to a mutually convenient pick-up point for lessons.

* Petite or Shorter Stature students. In addition to the main teaching car, we have a Dual Control car suitable for pupils of shorter stature, without any further modifications to the car for seat height adjustment, or controls.
* Automatic cars. We do not have an automatic car, but if you have your own automatic car we can teach you in that. We are insured to teach and drive in pupils own cars.
