Blue Flame Dance is an exciting new company specialising in fun and funky Street Dance courses in the Berkshire area. Blue Flame Dance aims to make dance accessible and enjoyable for all; whatever your age, whatever your ability. Our classes are a great way to learn the latest moves, get into shape, socialise with others and most of all, have fun!

At Blue Flame Dance we teach our own unique form of Street Dance which is influenced by a wide variety of different styles and disciplines. By combining elements of Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern, Latin, Ballet and even Tap, with a modern and fresh ‘Street’ feel, Blue Flame Dance routines promise to be creative, energetic and Hot!

Drishti Dance is founded by Indian Classical dance (Kathak) exponent Anuradha Chaturvedi.

Anuradha is a critically acclaimed Kathak artist based in Newbury, Berkshire and runs regular classes in Reading, Newbury and Oxford.
kathak is an exquisite and graceful dance style from North India well known for its lighting fast footwork executed on intricate rhythm patterns, symmetrical bodyline and highly refined narrative aspect.
Kathak training offered is suitable for both Beginner and professional level artists.

My experience

In a life filled with my passion for dance, performance experience, training, choreography and teaching. My experience, as you will refer to in my CV, has been rich in content.

I was trained in a traditional Ballet School in Ballet, Modern and Jazz, taking part in the festivals, shows, pantomimes, musicals and additional summer schools, I loved the smell of the grease paint and the warm glow of the coloured lights on the stage, but most of all I learned through the presence of my body in its environment that its energy had power to create.

This simple truth is where I begin to be inspired in Dance. On asking myself the question, what it is in Dance that I most enjoy? It is in my experience of Teaching that has led me to an interest in development where I found my answer. The most rewarding and inspired moments in Dance for me have come into play when originality, through chorography, technique, performance and research have evolved, The dancers in their environment and culture is truly fascinating to me and even observation of bodies moving on the street.

Line Dancing Club – British Western Dance Association accredited instructor.

About us:

Monterey Line Dance Club is offering classes for absolute beginners with our ‘Just Line Up and Dance’ programme at the Morgan Centre, each Tuesday evening from 7pm to 8pm at a cost of £4.00 and £3.25 for under 16s and over 60s.

Our programme includes predominantly linedancing (in lines – non partner) but we can also accommodate partner dancing (in couples) & ‘Swing’ (similar to jive) all at beginner level.

Age and ability irrelevant, there is something for everyone all are welcome – and don’t think its just for the gals, we have some crackng cowboys who enjoy linedancing! The objective is to enjoy exercise in a social setting, have fun and meet new people. A one hour line dance class serves as a good work out and a barrell of laughs.

If you have two left feet, bring them along and we will sort them out!

Any questions or queries, no matter how small, give me a call and I will be delighted to fill you in.

My advice is to:

1. wear something comfortable and possibly with a top layer you can remove once warmed up.

2. Sensible footwear, a small solid heel can be beneficial but nothing over 1′ advisable. Just be comfortable and wear something with good support.

3. Bring a drink with you, but there is a kitchen with a kettle, tea and coffee if required.

4. Be prepared to have fun!
