My name is Tom, I have been playing guitar regularly since year 7. I have a lot of experience of writing, playing, and recording live music in bands and also as a solo artist.

I have had guitar lessons before with a number of people but I always found them boring and a bit of a chore. This is because my tutors always cared more about the theory, the scales, and the grade that I was at, as opposed to the fun, exciting, and creative side of guitar playing that we all strive for and can all achieve when we play the music we love.

I am offering this particular Wokingham service to deliver high quality, professional tuition that encourages and ignites people’s talent without making it a chore.

About us:

I am offering Violin and Piano Tuitions for absolute Beginners as well as Advanced Students of all Ages.

I help students to prepare for their Exams, be it ABRSM or Trinity Guildhall. I enjoy teaching theory and helping students understand its complexity and diversity and would also be happy to teach students, who are merely interested in understanding music better (and not learning an instrument in particular)

My Violin and Piano Students are always encouraged to create and compose themselves according to their interests and skills.

I also offer Recorder Classes for Beginners and Vocal Tuitions focusing mainly on interpretation of a piece (in the styles Jazz, Soul, Funk and Pop).

I have graduated on the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria (MA in Music Pedagogy with distinction) and have, over the years, participated in various musical formations (orchestras, bands, ethnic groups, choirs, gospel groups, toddler and children singing groups), some of which I conducted myself.

If you are interested in any of the above, you are welcome to contact me by telephone. Trial classes are free of charge and include an assessment of the pupil’s skills and interests (not timed).

Optional: I am happy to teach in German or French if required

Stuart teaches piano and coaches singers at his home in Windsor. He studied piano with Kathleen McGrath in Liverpool and Denise Patton in London. He now studies with John Blakeley.

He was awarded the LLCM Diploma in Piano in 1996 and is a qualified teacher (PGCE).

In addition to teaching, Stuart works with singers, instrumentalists and choral groups as an accompanist and repetiteur, playing both in recitals/concerts and for examinations up to Diploma level.
