A charity raising money to build a community centre for disabled children and their families
About us:
Building for the Future is a charity which aims to raise money to build and manage a community centre for disabled children and their families in the Wokingham area. During 2007-2008 it is the Wokingham Borough Mayor’s chosen charity.
Building for the Future is run by parents of disabled children, each of whom currently represent other groups which support disabled children and their families, such as Peapods, Wokingham Mencap, Friends of Bridges, WASP and Friends of Ryeish Green Bungalow.
Currently Building for the Future needs to raise a minimum of £2.5million to create a one-of-a-kind,tailor-made building for disabled children which will include play rooms,a sensory room, a wheelchair accessible playground, a parents’ room, a sensory garden and more.
Building for the Future relies solely on fundraising and is keen to create partnerships with local businesses who want to help disabled children and contribute to the local community
